For me, AI serves two purposes. One is outward and the other is inward.
The outward part is easy to understand. We all use AI for certain output, be it to finish a work task or generate images. This is based on what you want and is somehow finite.
On the other hand, the inward function of AI remains more untapped for many people. To be specific, use AI for self-exploration, to know who you are and what you want. In this case, AI serves as a professional life coach or psychiatrist, who helps you reach a conclusion of some of the deeper questions we have as human beings. Simply put, AI helps you become more human, not less of it.
In turn, this inward exploration will consistently feed your ability to come up with the right tasks for outputs in AI’s first purpose.
Recently I found out that ChatGPT’s voice function is excellent for this second direction, in that it doesn’t require you to have your question ready and written. Instead, you can slowly communicate your concerns with AI while you’re still thinking about what you want to know exactly. You can stutter, you can backtrack, you can halt. The AI will guide you towards the question itself first, and talk with you for its answers.
